The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has closed several floors of a civilized building in south Mumbai, from where Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty is living with his family due to the rising covid-19 cases, civic officials said here on Monday.
Prithvi Apartments on Altamount Road, a 30-storey building with 120 floors, has seen several new covid-19 cases discovered over the past few days, causing some affected floors to be closed. According to BMC’s covid-19 protocols, if there are more than five active cases in any particular building, it is eligible for sealing to prevent further spread of the infection.
However, fitness buff, Sunil Shetty and his family are currently out of town and have not been affected by the BMC D ward action. However, he took to social media and commented: “Say “Locked In Or Locked Out?”
In addition to the Sunil Shetty building Prithvi apartments, the civic body has stamped on at least 9 other civilized buildings in and around the affluent Malabar Hill of South Mumbai, for the rising Kovid-19 cases.
According to BMC, in the second wave, more cases were reported from residential buildings or skyscrapers compared to congested slum areas.
